Twinsie Tuesday: Classic

So as I mentioned at the end of my last post, my trip to the States is lasting a lot longer than originally planned. All my nail stuff is in Hong Kong. I am in Mississippi. No camera or white box, no computer (thanks for use of the laptop, Grandfather!), and my cuticles look exactly like I've been on the road for weeks. But at this point it's either wing it with what I have on hand or put DMN on hiatus for, like, a month. And I don't wanna go on hiatus. Hello there, winging it!

This week's Twinsie Tuesday theme is Classic, and I had such an awesome polish all swatched and ready to go for the occasion. However, what with the extreme case of winging it, I shall now present a tribute to that "classic" handheld gaming system from back in the day, the Rubik's Cube.

Salon Perfect Ruby's Cubes swatch

See what I did there? Yeah, I'm not proud. But I do love this polish! This is Salon Perfect Ruby's Cubes (over Rimmel London Hot Black To Go), and it is ADORBS. It's a glitter topper filled to bursting with matte squares in all the classic Rubik's colours...though I noticed that the orange isn't as brightly orange as the original puzzle's shade, and I totally approve because the colour combination totally works exactly as is. This is just one coat of Ruby's Cubes with a teeny bit of extra dabbed to fill in at cuticles and whatnot, and while I did need to moosh the glitter around a little to break up some clumping, it was refreshingly easy to get plenty of glitter per stroke without it trying to slide off the edge of the nail. High marks, and now I'm totally looking forward to trying the other Salon Perfect glitters I picked up along with Ruby's Cubes!

"Classic" puzzle game is probably about as cheaty as it gets, and I'm sure my fellow Twinsies have some actual Classics in store for the theme. In the meantime, please bear with me while I keep on winging it!
