Twinsie Tuesday: Skittles

Today's TT theme is Skittles, so that's exactly what I did. In the midst of an extravagantly lousy time last week, I kind of squeaked by on the "food inspired" theme, so this week, I decided to go the full Skittle and adapted this adorable m&m design by Robin Moses.

It's been literally years since I tried a fun, French-adjacent design like this, and I loved it!

Feeling crazy happy that I finally seem to have a handle on the whole yellow nails thing, I started with 2 coats of OPI Barre My Soul. The rounded off tips are China Glaze Liquid Leather with candy colours in acrylic paint (though... the next time I try something like this, somebody please remind me to put down some white or something first because it took a ridiculous number of coats to get these colours to look candy-bright over the black).

Anyway, after that, I touched up those black lines a little and squinted myself silly adding some Ss (some esses?) for the Skittles.

So bummed I couldn't find an actual bag of Skittles to pose with, like I did waaaaay back with my m&m nails...or the corn (snerk!)... but it's a disappointment I think I can live with.

Touching all the wood in sight, but things seem to be looking up again, and I want to be sure to say thanks to my Twinsies and to everyone who left a word or two of encouragement over the last couple of craptastic weeks. It really has meant a lot! I have a terrifying mountain of to-do work looming because I'm about to leave town for another month, but I'm so excited to be actually in the mood to do it again.

First, though, imma go see what my other Twinsies did for their skittle manicures...
