Twinsie Tuesday: One-Stroke Flowers

This week's TT theme is one-stroke flowers, which I've been both dreading and really looking forward to. Looking forward for the challenge of the thing and dreading because of my expectations. But I am shocked, I tell you--shocked!--to report that things actually turned out okay!

The base for these is Zoya Taylor, which I super, super LOVE. I've been hoping for a long time to find a nude beige that would give me the same tingly feelings I get from Deborah Lippmann Human Nature. Taylor doesn't have that same mushroom/taupe edge as HN, but it's just that little bit darker than my crazypale skin and doesn't lean too warm or too cold. It may not recapture that exact same DL spark, but I would totally take Taylor out to dinner and invite her in for drinks. I plan to cover her with nail art and glitter, pretty much every chance I get.

Other than a half-hearted attempt about a year ago that wasn't even allowed to dry on the first nail, this was my first go at one-stroke flowers, and I gotta say it went much better than I expected. Especially after that didn't-really-count first time because wow, that was just...wow. Let us never speak of it. But something about it just kinda clicked today, for which I have to thank LOVE4NAILS and her tutorials. I definitely need a little more practice, especially with turning the corner to round off that last petal instead of just running into the end of the nail, but that sense of foreboding I had about one-stroke flowers is all calmed down. I'm even looking forward to doing them again soon!

Hope my fellow Twinsies had this much fun with their one-stroke flower nails!

I have tried one stroke about three times last year, and just didn't do it again. Seeing the beauty of your flowers, I'll give it another try.
