These three ridiculously wonderful glitters, my part 3 of 3 in the CrowsToes One Mad Crazy Summer Collection, take several prizes. One, the prize for the most fangirly squeaking I've ever done upon opening a box of nail polish. Two, for the most hideously overdue post in blogging history. And three, for the most times I've re-swatched anything before being satisfied that it's ready to post...and by satisfied, I mean satisfied I've done the best I personally can right now, because this trio is fabulous beyond my ability to convey.
Lauri has always had a flair for colour and texture combinations, and she's put that talent to great use yet again with these three glitters. Each has a clear base and dabs on easily, and the colour and sparkle are typical CrowsToes awesomeness.
First up, CrowsToes Boat Drinks is a mix of lavender and chartreuse circle glitters. Circle glitters! And chartreuse! Never seen chartreuse glitter before, and it's such a gorgeous pairing with the lavender. Seriously, just, LOVE. I first swatched this over a couple of different polishes--light sage and a darker purple--which both looked awesome, but my favourite combination was over olive green Zoya Gemma.
Lauri describes CrowsToes Chess!.....You Dog! as a nod to Tim Burton's Cheshire Cat, and I absolutely see it. Those glowing eyes, holographic-shifting blue and green (yay, more big, circle glitters!) and the black diamond pupils. I've seen this one over many shades of blue, and it looked great over all of them, from light to dark. I think it'd do nicely over a deep green as well. On me, I liked it best over Zoya Dove, which I didn't even realise at first but will totally pretend I meant to do it, fits right in with Cheshire's colours.
My Favorite Amazon
I love Wonder Woman, LOVE her to eagle-crested, lasso-wielding bits. In the other corner, sparkly glitter delights me in a way that few things in this world can do. So when I found out that Lauri used to make a glitter polish called Wonder Woman and that it had been discontinued, it took every ounce of big-girl maturity I could muster not to throw myself on my bed and weep. Then time passed, and Lauri mentioned that this collection would include a re-release...I knocked every piece of wood I could get my knuckles on, and then... Lauri sent me this collection when I was visiting my grandparents, and the very first polish I unwrapped was My Favorite Amazon... I think I frightened my family. Like, seriously frightened them, given how loudly I shrieked. Red, blue, and golden glitter, a scattering of silver, and big, white stars. I've worn it 3 or 4 times now, and it makes my heart so happy. Swatched over MAC Spirit of Truth because how could I possibly not?
I have more swatches of these after the cut, which I hope you'll come peek at! I didn't want to overload the main page by putting them all out here together, but I am crushing way too hard on these polishes to stop at just one picture each...
The colours, the sparkle, the creativity--these were everything I've come to expect from CrowsToes. So many apologies for how ridiculously long it took me to get these posted, but I could not be happier with this amazing trio!
