I have another trio to share from CrowsToes One Mad Crazy Summer--and about time I got it in gear, because the Autumn polishes are out now too, and they are uh-MAZING! Today it's Storms Never Last, Last Rat Standing, and One Trick Pony...
Once again Lauri has outdone herself, and is anyone surprised? Yeah, I didn't think so. There's a good dozen swatch pics coming up, so please hit "Read More" to come see!
One of the amazing things about so many of the recent CrowsToes polishes is that they aren't necessarily one thing or another--there's all kinds of mad alchemy going on, resulting in polishes that are both gorgeous and unique...
Storms Never Last
Dedicated to Lauri's mother, Storms Never Last is a rich and sparkling beauty. It's a...jelly duo-foil? Foil glitter-fleck? Yeah, I don't even know just how to categorize it, other than to say it's rich and complex and all kinds of stunning.
A duo that dances fluidly from blue to purple, Storms Never Last is a blurple-lover's dream. It's deep but not dark, and it's highlighted with a delicate scattering of teal-blue sparks. The formula was just a little bit thick, but that's not a huge surprise, given the incredible foil/fleck/shimmer payoff.
CrowsToes Storms Never Last reminds me of a beautiful, blue ocean under the nighttime sky. It also reminds me of the nighttime sky itself, twinkling all vast and galaxy-like...
Apparently it makes me wax just a teeny bit poetic.
Last Rat Standing
CrowsToes Last Rat Standing is a dark, glass flecked taupe that's packed with an incredible rainbow micro-shimmer. Prettiest. Rat. EVER!
Softly neutral, richly textured, densely pigmented, rainbow flash. I'll say it again: mad alchemy.
One Trick Pony
Pretty safe to say that Lauri is anything but! CrowsToes One Trick Pony is a deep aubergine with a brilliant, scattered holographic shimmer and a formula that's like butter. It's also a duo-/multichrome! The effect isn't as easy to see in full light, but under cover, in the shade, the bright aubergine and the holo give way to an awesome gunmetal green-grey-purple shift that's full of shimmering silver.
I really had to search for a spot where I could capture this more muted side, though, because as soon as it hits the light again, One Trick Pony comes over all fabulously ka-POW. Like so!
I really am blown away by Laurie's artistry and creativity, especially given the different finishes and elements she incorporates into her collections. Coming soon I'll have the last 3 in this collection, and I'm so excited about them too--it's my personal kryptonite, the glitters!
