I am crazy, sugar high, kid-at-Christmas excited right now, because Lauri sent me the latest CrowsToes collection! I'm really looking forward to sharing it, but I have some things I do need to post first... including just a little more springtime Crow! Lauri noticed these hadn't made it over with the first batch (see parts I, II, and III) and sent them along, and I'm so happy to be able to share them. It's a duo of purple sister polishes, L'il Miss Sunshine and L'il Miss Cyanide.
L'il Miss Sunshine is a bright, medium purple that's packed with shimmering, duochrome microflakies that flash from silver to blue. Her partner in crime, L'il Miss Cyanide, has a much finer shimmer that flares from fuchsia to a brilliant acid green.
Please join me after the break for more swatch pics and details!
CrowsToes L'il Miss Sunshine is a nicely pigmented purple that's full of the most amazing glass fleck, microflakie, duochrome (mutichrome, even!) shimmer. I'm wearing it at 3-4 coats (it seems to be fine for almost everyone at 3 coats, but my VNL has always been extra-stubborn), which applied easily and smoothly.
Dig that glass fleck shimmering from silver to lavender to brilliant, icy blue! And I wasn't able to catch it on camera, but in lower lighting those microflakies settled into a gorgeous gold. Fantabulous!
Like her partner polish, CrowsToes L'il Miss Cyanide features a purple base with an intensely flaring duo-shimmer, but she pulls it off in an entirely different way! I've seen it layer quite nicely into a soft, lilac-silver on most people in two to three coats, but I decided to layer mine--I'm wearing two coats here over OPI Dutch Ya' Just Love OPI?, a medium aubergine from the Holland Collection.
L'il Miss Cyanide dries to a much softer shade on its own, but with the OPI underneath, the bright green seemed to dance over the nail, like the iridescent sheen on an insect's wing. And you know how a shimmer is always even more awesome in person than you can really see on camera?
Honestly, what can I say about CrowsToes that I haven't already said a dozen times before? Lauri has done another fantastic job of combining artistry and formula. She also continues to make it really hard to sound unbiased, while I continue to be amazed.
