Essie Naughty Nautical

Fall collections may be out already, but I'm still enjoying summer polishes like Essie Naughty Nautical. I put it on again today to swatch a great new glitter, which reminded me that I still had pics to post from its first time out, and wow, my nails were long in June...

This is three coats of Essie Naughty Nautical, a subtly shimmering teal that I had fingers crossed like crazy would play nice. Essie and I don't always get along for some reason (body chemistry? past lives? no idea), but Naughty Nautical and I are doing just fine. No streaking or problems either time I've applied it, no staining last time I took it off, and it leveled nicely too.

It's no secret that teal polishes are pretty much my kryptonite. I was also intrigued by this fascinating shimmer that looked, in the bottle, like clear or silver glass fleck. On the nail it's not very noticeable in indirect light, but the soft shimmer actually reminded me of the famous (and coveted) Illamasqua Raindrops. Very cool!
