My base colour for this manicure is Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Ion. I just got it in the mail from the fabulous Amanda and could not wait to use it! Gorgeously greige, fantastic formula, and so beautifully creme-y. I love it!
After Ion and my acrylic paint hearts were dry, I outlined the hearts in these silver studs. With a wet coat of regular OPI Top Coat on my nail (and a few drops on a paper plate), I just barely dipped a toothpick into the top coat and used that to pick up and place the studs. A nice, thick application of China Glaze Fast Forward on top of that, and these easily lasted all day (and probably would have last longer too, but I had some nail homework to do for Tuesday ;p).
These were so much fun to do! The first thing that struck me was how tiny 1.5mm actually is, and even though I probably used a good 50 of them on this manicure, I still have about a jillion left over. You get tons.

Simple and pretty =)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sharra! I just fell in love with this design! ^_^
DeleteThese look so cute with the heart - and they're not like some of the studs I've seen that are in your face! They're subtle, and edgy :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Heather! They really did have a nice balance IRL, cute but not screaming for attention. ;)
DeleteOh, this manicure is beautiful, and the base colour too! :-) I'm waiting for my nail art studs (golden) to come and I can't wait! :-)
ReplyDeleteI bet your design is going to be beautiful--looking forward to seeing them, Tanja, and thank you very much!
DeleteOoooh how pretty! I love the wait you made the heart pop by accenting it with studs! Great color choices too! :-)

ReplyDeleteAw, thank you, Lindsey! I didn't think I'd be that into them--like, I thought they'd be all bumpy and obnoxious, but these tiny ones are especially unobtrusive. :)

ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Maria! They went pretty easily once I realized I didn't have to get the hearts all perfect, since I was going to cover the outlines anyway. ;o)
