My base colour is Revlon Bare Bones, and the red is none other than OPI Big Apple Red. After dotting on my apples (and brushing larger ones on ring and thumb), I used a teeny paintbrush to add leaves of Jessica Mint Mojito Green and some brown OPI Suzi Loves Cowboys stems. Then I top coated with SV and went all tralala for a good 10 minutes before I smacked my forehead. I forgot the white "shine" marks! So, Orly Crisp White nail art striper, another top coat (Nubar Diamont Seal & Shine, just to mix things up), and it was finally picture time.
Despite having two thick applications of top coat, my first batch of pics looked a little matte somehow, and I went, "Ooooooo." Another top coat! This time, NYC Matte Me Crazy. The apples themselves did look cute all shiny and bright, but the matte coat really brought the whole design to life.
I love!! ^_^
So, Happy Johnny Appleseed Day, everyone! Did you know it's also National Napping Day in America? It's celebrated every year on the day after the clocks "spring forward" to let people catch up on that lost hour of sleep. Genius!
Oh wow! This is one of the nicest manis I've ever seen. So crisp, clean and beautiful - I'm so in awe! xx
