In the mood to play around with something new, I found this tutorial by ProfessionalDQ and couldn't resist. Her results are so cute, and I'm not really sure I pulled off the details, but the only way to learn is by doing, right? And these were so much fun to do!
I started with Skinfood PK202, an adorably bubblegum pink from the Vita Line. On top of that I added some diagonal, zebra-ish stripes with acrylic paint, then a thin coat of OPI Princesses Rule! for some shimmering sparkle. The teeth and bows are my trusty Orly Jet Black nail art striper, and everything else is more acrylic paint.
The big eye on my index finger bled a bit because I'd made my black too watery, so I decided that skull was in Fight Club (she doesn't like to talk about it, though--it's also how her tooth got chipped). I definitely need more practice with small details, but overall I'm really happy with how these came out!
I love the whole grunge princess look of these, and I definitely want to try more fun, funky designs like this one. Maybe next time I'll do my right hand too... (^_-)
