As part of my week-long challenge with Amanda, we each have to use our respective colour for Twinsie Tuesday too, and this week's TT assignment is polka dots or stripes. I picked polka dots! With flowers. Because if I can find a way to add some flowers, that's pretty much what I'm gonna do.
Today's purple is Skinfood VL005, a blueberry-tinted violet that hints at pastel without quite reaching it. The formula was very smooth, easy to apply and practically opaque at just one coat (which I think I've said about every Skinfood I've tried so far). This is two coats of polish with dots and flowers of acrylic paint that I mixed to match.
One thing I didn't count on when I agreed to a week of purple polish is that it means a whole week of photographing said polish. Purple is hard! The white balance on my camera is so not happy with me right now, and I can't even tell if my skin is the right colour anymore. This particular purple also lobstered my fingertips a little bit, so my skin tone may look a little off here. Or possibly it's fine, and my eyeballs are just swimming in purple already...and it's only Tuesday! Hope Amanda's enjoying her smurf fingers... ^_^

Wow I love those! :) I think you're very brave to use a colour you don't like for a whole week, if I was to do the same with yellow... I'd have a hard time! I don't even own one ;) Your flowers look amazing! I love how big they are :) And the Skinfood bottle is super cute!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, M! Hehe, Amanda was really relieved I didn't challenge her to do yellow. I actually did have to go out and find a few more purples I thought I could wear, but there are some shades I do enjoy. ("Glitter" is a shade, right? ;p)

Thank you very much, Loes! I love these little adorable bottles too. They're just 8ml, I think, instead of the usual 15, but that just makes it easier to talk myself into getting two! ;)
DeletePurple cremes like this, that are both bright and delicate, are completely stunning on everyone. This purple is just unbelievably flattering on you!
