CrowsToes Maxxed Out

This is what I had planned to layer over Zoya Ziv, and I love it. It's CrowsToes Maxxed Out, from the 2012 Holiday Collection. Did I mention that I love it?

Packed with holographic, sparkling gold and silver, Maxxed Out is a perfect, festive glitter for the holidays, New Year's Eve, an evening out...grocery shopping... (that was the first place I went with it on, and my cashier was totally wowed ;p). It's also one of those beautiful polishes that's hard to do justice in pictures because the flashes of holographic colour are just so intensely gorgeous. They glint and gleam as your hand moves even the tiniest bit, even in quite dim lighting!

I thought black might make a good background too, so I did a few of both. More pics after the break!

Even this picture doesn't fully capture the extent of Maxxed Out's incredible brilliance, but it's as close as I could get without a video crew and/or several courses in photography.

I also really appreciate that as packed as this polish is, the glitter isn't just crammed in there willy-nilly; there's a very pleasing balance of gold and silver, big and small, even some bars mixed in with the hexes to add depth and texture.

Maxxed Out is a thick glitter, undiluted. If you want coverage that's not as dense, you can add thinner (not remover!) or swipe some of the glitter from the brush before you apply it, but I love it just as it is. I dabbed instead of brushing and had no trouble getting it to cover well. And it dried much smoother than I expected it to, but I still gave it a good coat of Gelous, then one of SV, for a final finish that was smooth as glass.

Having tried two of Lauri's polishes now, being so smitten with them both, I'm even more excited to wear the last of the three I've ordered...only I'm also a little sad because it's the last of the three. I clearly need more CrowsToes in my life.

Maxxed Out and other CrowsToes polishes can be found at Llarowe and Overall Beauty. And with no segue whatsoever, six days left in my giveaway!
